Counselling
Individual counselling based on principles of collaboration and non-judgement. I can draw on skills from various counselling modalities based on what fits best for you, however my main approach is Narrative Therapy as it locates you as the expert of your life, the problem as outside of yourself and says, "the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem". A Narrative Therapy approach is trauma-informed and re-politicises mental health. I have experience working with folks experiencing mental health struggles (depression, anxiety, PTSD, complex trauma, grief and loss, etc), drug and alcohol dependencies, chronic illness, domestic and family violence, structural violence, sexual assault, and with folks wanting to address harms they have caused. I have a keen interest in de-pathologising human distress and responses to injustice.

Supervision
Individual supervision with social workers, counsellors, and community workers in navigating organisational issues, ethical dilemmas, and remaining shored up in this work that we do. This is supervision with a commitment to centering social justice in this work, and with a focus on the ways in which you resist issues of oppression, injustice, pathologisation, neoliberalism, etc. I am particularly interested in how workers navigate these issues in their first couple of years in the field as this can be a difficult period. I have experience in the structural exhaustion of fighting this fight, and of being shored up by fellow workers and incredible supervision. I have a deep understanding of the difference great supervision can make in this context and of the importance of a respectful, collaborative approach to supervision that does not individualise structural violence into the language of 'burnout'. I bring experience from government, non-government, private for-profit, and non-profit sectors.
Group Counselling
For folks who feel they would benefit from having a small community with similar experiences in the areas of mental health struggles, chronic illness, domestic and family violence, sexual assault, and structural violence. I am passionate about group work because of the importance and healing power of connection, community, and support. Group work opens up possibilities for people to share the knowledge and wisdom they have from their own experiences, and to find support through validation and normalisation of their experience through other people's experiences. I will continually update which groups I am providing, but please contact me if you are looking for a particular group.

Currently seeking interest in two groups: Body Narratives (created and facilitated by me) and a support group for survivors of sexual assault

Group Supervision
For social workers, counsellors, and community workers to shore each other up and remain committed to social justice. This work can feel hard, overwhelming, or isolating if we don't shoulder each other up in collective ethics. Having a group of people sharing similar values, ethics, and purpose can act as an antidote to the individualistic, capitalist structures we are working within. Group supervision is structured around a theme or article that the group can discuss in relation to their own experiences. It is held within a context of support, non-blaming, and non-judgement, and aims to explore the small acts of resistance that we enact in oppressive spaces.
